Thurston Bros.' Aero Blue/Tan A-1 is a Blue Cowhide replica of a summer flying jacket that was standardized for use in 1927. The Type A-1 has five central buttons for closure with two buttons for neck fastening. The buttons on an Aero Type A-1 are hand sewn for extra durability. The jacket has two snap buttons to fasten the bottom of the jacket. The back of this jacket is made from a two piece back, with the top yoke having a straight edge. For off-the-rack sales, this jacket is specified in 3.0 oz Ocean Blue Cowhide. The Aero Blue/Tan A-1 has Oatmeal Wool Knits; light tan contrast stitching on all seams and button holes; snaps at jacket hem; tan cotton liner; and A-1 tag.
